The singing kettle |

A clear favourite time for the group is our singing kettle. The last 20 to 30 minutes of the session is spent together in a circle. We celebrate children’s birthdays, share any upcoming events and sing songs chosen by the children themselves. | ||

The children bring a small toy with them to represent the song they would like to sing (for example a bus if they want to sing ‘The wheels on the bus’). |

We put the toy in our distinctive red kettle and the child takes it back again when the person leading the singing pulls it out of the kettle during the circle time. |
|
This is a special time for the children. We encourage carers to have the children sit quietly so that a sense of anticipation is built up and then to help them join in confidently so they can enjoy the songs and the actions.

As a church and a toddler group we have a strong link with Traidcraft and are committed to buying fairly traded biscuits as well as having a Traidcraft stall once a term, at which parents can purchase food and other products.

M&O is a toddlers group which operates on Tuesday mornings in our main hall. It is very popular and there is usually a waiting list, but if you’re interested, please phone the coordinator on 01732 451977 to find out whether any spaces are due to become available soon.
